Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

My size tire was not available on the site, it's 21" and not 18". My experience is maybe unique to Tesla cars, but it has only 1-2mm left after 17000 km. With Hankook and Pirelli, I've gotten better milage... The tire can suddenly lose grip in aqua planing conditions, which I did experience once on the highway - and not with any other tire. But maybe all tires would have this issue under the same conditions. My main issue is that the tire wears our very quickly especially on the rim area, making tires wear out prematurely and they easily puncture if not detected (can see white threads, but not visible easily if on the inner rim). Some of this is likely due to Tesla ABS system activating easily in sharp curves, as I have not experienced these issues with other car brands. Both model 3 and model S have this issue. These tires I need to replace quicker than 17000 km as one of tires has just approx 1mm thread.

I chose the Pilot Sport 5s for my car for 6000 miles of arduous driving, leading a classic car rally around all of Greece. We were heavily laden and driving hard on very mixed surfaces. The Pilot Sports never let us down and showed impressive grip throughout. Even better, 10,000km later they have worn remarkably little, and very evenly. The sister car was on Toyos which admittedly are cheaper, but showed a LOT more wear.

Size = 255/40/19. I had the Pilot sport 4 on the front, went for the PS5 on the back as they were just available and they were great. I would definitely go for them again but I just changed my car and it looks like Michelin do not support the new size tyres (305/30/ZR21) but I will keep checking Michelin.

car car The Pilot Alpin PA4 is an excellent tyre. The tyre size is 265/30 - 20 and was used on the rear axle of my Alpina B3 GT Touring. I have used this tyre on my previous car, Mercedes AMG E63s Estate. I would have preferred to have bought Pilot Alpin 5 tyres, but they are not available in this size.

These tyres perform superbly in winter conditions, and are my go-to winter tyre, reviewed on a Quattro S5, but I've used the same tyre on a RWD C250, and they were great on both (even more essential on the RWD car in the cold, in fact). They provide top-tier grip in all cold conditions, and are only slightly noisier and slightly 'harsher' (more bumps) than the summer tyres on the car, which is good going for a winter tyre. They are pricey, but wear well, I have used them for a full winter season, and they will do several more. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

Bought for winter driving into Italian Alps. Always felt confident and never slipped once on snow or rain. Range does decrease a little with the Tesla which may be a combination of software range prediction and actual range reduction due to factors like rolling resistance. The latter to be expected with Winter Tyres

I changed from SuperSports to Alpine P4A's because I live in a hilly area in the country, and in the winter mornings it can get dicey going down the hill. Although I never used these in full on snow, during the winter months I never once had any scary moments like I would normally. I also noted that at motorway speeds these handled rainfall and taking standing water at speed much better, although not as good as the other car's all seasons tires since these are far wider. I would recommend them, however I would note that you do lose some steering feel at the limit of corners, and off the line traction on hotter days (7c+) was compromised compared to normal SuperSports. A worthy trade-off for the morning and storm confidence in my opinion.

Incredibly capable tyre for all conditions, but my experience on the roads in West Yorkshire will probably dictate that I don't purchase these tyres again as they are too soft on the sidewall, they do need some sort of protective band. The roads a terrible around Haworth for potholes, and in this case I could not dodge one and it has ripped the sidewall and damaged the rim, rendering the tyre scrap.

Have tried lots of different snow tyres over years and put these on my 3 series touring to replace the Pirelli zero’s. If anything I thought they ran quieter than the zero’s and plenty of grip in both dry and wet conditions. Used the in snow as well and kept everything moving which is all you want from a snow tyre.

As my Volvo is a rear wheel drive automatic I always use winter tyres. Previously had Goodyear ultra grip 9 and still have them on the front. New Goodyear ultra grip 3 on rear. We're great in the recent snow, where front wheel drives were getting stuck, no doubt on summer tyres.

Smooth and absolutely lovely on snow, sensational grip. Great feel of safety on wet roads. Used to drive with Pirelli Sottozero 3 winter-tyres which are great too however these GoodYear UltraGrip Performance + winter-tyres are a new level of tyres.

I drive an automatic which is terrible for grip with only the slightest snowfall, and I’m very cautious in sub zero icy weather. However with the UltraGrip Performance + tyres I was full of confidence every time I drove in sub zero weather conditions. Breaking distances were further than summer tyres, as expected, but nothing to worry about. Car performance was very good and fuel consumption while motorway cruising was better than summer tyres! There was no snowfall this year so I cannot comment.

These tyres have been superb. The grip in wet and snowy conditions even in a rear wheel drive car has been nothing short of exceptional. They feel good and give you the confidence in even the worst conditions that you can turn into corners and stop in a consistent manner. I've pulled away on hills in snow and not had any wheelspin at all. Only downside is they can be a little noisy but this is hardly noticeable and is a comparison with a summer tyre so not entirely fair.

The ne thing with my car is the torque and how easy it is to get the wheels to lose traction. Coming from Michelin PS2 Sports I thought I would try out the Goodyear. One thing is obvious - the grip is immense. Way better than the PS2's which were quite old and maybe had hardened up a bit but the GY's were a fabulous choice and would definitely get again, just hope the Asymmetric 2 remains available. Don't drive much when wet but still better grip all round from these over the PS2's.

I was really impressed with these tyres, the volvo v60 D4 is a heavy car with 192bhp 400nm of torque. 235/40/18 Winter has been very wet and i would describe my driving style as quick, with moments of very fast! The grip in all weather conditions is sensational, both dry and wet there is no tyre slip even with a spirited drive. I have also tested the grip limits at low speeds around roundabouts and there is a lot more grip available than i thought there would be in the wet. Tyre life seems good after 4000km and i do mainly a mix of country lanes and dual carriage way day to day. I am very impressed and will buy these tyres again!

Super quiet, lovely ride comfort, but also perform brilliantly in the wet. Not had a chance to test this set in snow, but a previous set were excellent on packed snow.

Side walls made of Cheese clipped a stone on the road, nothing big, ripped the sidewall, and broke the beading wire, Tyre was 3 days old. in 40 plus years of driving ive never had a bead wire break on a tyre, the garage had never seen one either. contacted continental and was ignored. last time i will ever have these tyre or continental on my vechicals.

Compared with my previous Michelins, and the Pirelli summer tyres, these disappoint. No confidence in the snow and they felt unnatached in the wet.

I would like to say that these tyres saved our bacon this winter. We had lots of snow and ice over January and February this year and the tyres never lost an ounce of grip. Even when others were stuck and lost in snow drifts, the Scout got through. I was concerned about the wear of the tyres (bring softer than summet tyres but there was little wear showing on the Winter Tyres). Highly recommended for high speed road driving or off-road snowdrifts!

I've done around 8500 miles so far in mostly poor weather , very good grip in all winter conditions and mild conditions. Good all rounder.

Good grip on wet and dry roads. Reasonable grip on snow and icy roads. Noisy on dry roads. Fuel consumption has increased. All in all decent tyres.

Incredibly capable tyre for all conditions, but my experience on the roads in West Yorkshire will probably dictate that I don't purchase these tyres again as they are too soft on the sidewall, they do need some sort of protective band. The roads a terrible around Haworth for potholes, and in this case I could not dodge one and it has ripped the sidewall and damaged the rim, rendering the tyre scrap.

car car The Pilot Alpin PA4 is an excellent tyre. The tyre size is 265/30 - 20 and was used on the rear axle of my Alpina B3 GT Touring. I have used this tyre on my previous car, Mercedes AMG E63s Estate. I would have preferred to have bought Pilot Alpin 5 tyres, but they are not available in this size.

These tyres perform superbly in winter conditions, and are my go-to winter tyre, reviewed on a Quattro S5, but I've used the same tyre on a RWD C250, and they were great on both (even more essential on the RWD car in the cold, in fact). They provide top-tier grip in all cold conditions, and are only slightly noisier and slightly 'harsher' (more bumps) than the summer tyres on the car, which is good going for a winter tyre. They are pricey, but wear well, I have used them for a full winter season, and they will do several more. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

Bought for winter driving into Italian Alps. Always felt confident and never slipped once on snow or rain. Range does decrease a little with the Tesla which may be a combination of software range prediction and actual range reduction due to factors like rolling resistance. The latter to be expected with Winter Tyres

I changed from SuperSports to Alpine P4A's because I live in a hilly area in the country, and in the winter mornings it can get dicey going down the hill. Although I never used these in full on snow, during the winter months I never once had any scary moments like I would normally. I also noted that at motorway speeds these handled rainfall and taking standing water at speed much better, although not as good as the other car's all seasons tires since these are far wider. I would recommend them, however I would note that you do lose some steering feel at the limit of corners, and off the line traction on hotter days (7c+) was compromised compared to normal SuperSports. A worthy trade-off for the morning and storm confidence in my opinion.
