These are a thoroughly dependable tyre and the Expert 2 (and the later Expert 3) are superb tyres. In addition to the stated vehicle I have a set on my wife's 2014 Audi A3 and our 'spare car' a 2009 Fiat Panda 4x4. They are all on all year round and have acceptable wear even in hot summers

What makes these tyres stand out is their performance on very wet roads or standing water.

I am a careful driver. Mostly urban with some motorway driving. The tyres I chose are all season. Whilst I live in Edinburgh City, when snow falls I need to drive 800m and up 2 hills in order to get to a road that is kept clear and often there are cars and a bus strewn across the road. Amazing but true. These tyres have allowed me to bypass these cars and proceed to the swept roadway. 2 times this winter. Scarcely believable that people don't know how to drive in the snow. They are sure footed in frost too.

We have owned this car for almost 11 years now and the last 9 years have been on firstly Uniroyal MS+77 205/55 R16 91H and then for the last 3 years on AllSeason Expert 2 which is a vastly improved tyre. The latter is so much quieter and returns improved fuel consumption and I believe better grip in wintry conditions

Yokohama all season tyres – team Yokohama keeps working wonders

The brand Yokohama has sports at its core, and develops ultra high-performance tyres for cars that are just as likely to hit the track as the road. They love using energetic buzzwords like ‘dedication’, ‘toughness’ and ‘performance’, and that is what their tyres are all about. Their history demonstrates they have supported participants in all manner of sports on two or four wheels, and they have a reputation for excellence that goes into every product they release.

The top Yokohama all season tyres:

The Yokohama Advan Sport A/S is a high-performance tyre for high-performance cars. It has supreme handling capabilities with a strong shoulder and large outside blocks for lateral stability. It features the asymmetrical tread design that is common to all season tyres, enabling sport driving in different weather conditions. And the wear resistance is high, offering an extended tread life to ensure you get your money’s worth.

Alternatively, there is the Avid Envigor which scales up to SUVs and vans if required. It is optimised for a quiet ride to increase driver comfort. The angled cuts in the groove walls include adaptive three-dimensional sipes, helping to resist aquaplaning for excellent wet or winter grip throughout the tyre’s lifespan. And, again, that lifespan should be a long one thanks to the wear-resistant compound and design.

What are the benefits of the Yokohama focus on sophisticated tread designs?

  • Traction is improved through blocks and sipes which act as the tyre spins to maximise contact with the ground.
  • Dimples in the tread are indentations that improve tyre cooling, which keeps the rubber compound in maximum working order.
  • Void ratios which impact how the rubber contacts with the road, as well as helping to drain water to resist aquaplaning and perform well in the wet.

Yokohama all season tyres are the picture of sophistication

At www.tyres-guru.co.uk we are very familiar with the Yokohama brand, being fond followers of all manner of motorsports. We love the diversity of technologies the brand has to work on to stay on top of its sports demands, and we place a huge amount of stock in Yokohama all season tyres.
