These are an excellent alternative to the Michelin Alpin A3 which I have historically run. They were cracking before wearing out. I needed something that would stick the power of the vehicle and be controllable. These fit the bill admirably.

24.06.2024 from Des
Great tyres , good all round grip, as I live in Scotland the seasons change every 5mins, with plenty of rain & the odd bit of snow , I do some off road driving and never got the car stuck, I do run this type of tyre all year round , but as the car is quite light I always change my tyres when they get down to 3mm , I think this is far safer ,
01.04.2024 from Robert
The tyres perform unbelievably well. Braking and grip in the wet is just phenomenal. Outstanding performance. Superb and consistent grip in heavy persistent rain along French motorway to the UK, long and short journeys.

I went for the BMW approved (star marked) Blizzak and I’m very happy with the tyres. I’ve had Conti Winter Contact on previous cars and in regular use I would say the Blizzak is very comparable. The car retains decent steering feel and traction on wet and dry roads plus offers a far greater level of grip on snow/slush over a regular tyre. Ride comfort seems pretty much unchanged, as always with winters there is a little more noise but it’s slight and after 5 minutes you don’t notice! Fuel consumption does increase very slightly over the summer tyres BUT that could be down to the cold weather as much as the tyres!
11.05.2023 from Sam Summers
I bought these so that I wouldn't have any mishaps during the winter in my beloved car. I was worried that it would be a nightmare to drive in the snow due to being rear wheel drive and its power. I put these tyres on the front and different winter tyres on the rear and never had any problems at all - very surprised and impressed!

My car is the 90Hp 1.6TDI, CAYB engine and 5 speed transmission. I return on average 65mpg with these Fulda winter tyres on - no drop off from the summers [they were not good summers that came off it]. I drive on UK A and B roads in Shropshire, Herefordshire which are very agricultural with lots of pot holes. I killed a Fulda front tyre in 100 miles as I missed a huge pot hole at night at 50mph, the tyre did not burst but it egged - luckily I bought 6 tyres expecting a problem as the roads are horrendous and the tyres 40 series so too low profile for where I live. I drive to purposely avoid pot holes, but still catch them - the tyres and rims have survived unscathed since. I suspect they are slightly noisier than the summer but only on some road surfaces. Grip is very good in wet and predictable in the dry - not an ultimate grip tyre BUT here is my point, it appears to me on a very low power and lightweight car [1,200kg] to provide very consistent grip regardless of road surface which is what I want. Great grip in wet mud and standing water also. I would recommend for a good general tyre. I've done about 5,000 miles on them so far and wear even at 10degC is fine.
19.09.2021 from Allan Fulton
Excellent in wet superb handling and breaking
05.09.2019 from Peter
Although a "Winter" tyre they are a good all rounder mud & snow. Tyre wear is obviously not as good "summer" tyres and other tyres may be better for high speed autoroute driving.

Kumho winter tyres – precision engineering at work

Kumho Tyre has been around since 1960, and although its history is far shorter than some of its rival companies, it has truly etched its place right alongside them. Kumho produces as many as 68 million tyres every year for cars, vans and trucks, and even produces tyres for motorsports including the prestigious Formula 1. With that motorsports background, Kumho are no stranger to innovation and fine tuning technologies to work together, and this is precisely what you need in a great winter tyre.

Kumho winter tyres that excel:

There are two winter tyres that Kumho sells, available in a wide range of sizes. The Wintercraft WP51 is a high-performance tyre that features modern sipe technology to enhance grip on the ice and snow. The silica tread compound is optimised to ensure braking distances remain short, and the directional pattern design offers superb resistance to aquaplaning. All in all, a great winter tyre that won’t decimate your budget.

For larger passenger cars or even luxury vehicles, there is the Wintercraft WP71. This offering combines tread pattern design with 3D sipes to achieve excellent traction on the snow and ice. The compound technology delivers responsive and effective braking performance in all winter conditions, and the construction is optimised for enhanced driving stability. The tyre contour design gives you great handling and traction in the wet – a great all-round winter tyre.

Some of the great successes behind Kumho winter tyres:

  • Kumho is the OE fitment for 3 of the world’s top 5 car brands.
  • In 2014, Kumho was awarded the coveted Red Dot Award for the third consecutive year.
  • Kumho produces tyres for several motorsports, and has been class winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Kumho winter tyres – hard work that pays off

At www.tyres-guru.co.uk we know workrate when we see it, and the amount that Kumho does is quite staggering. Their presence in motorsports is extensive, and they have seen some genuine success across the board. To be able to achieve that takes engineering brilliance, and when that kind of work goes into their winter tyres you are sure to have a reliable product. Browse around our website and you are sure to find more reliable products, like premium motor oils, or steel wheels.
