Summer tyres - optimal grip guaranteed!
On dry roads or mild weather, your tyres have to face some increased demands and must always meet safety standards. Compared to winter tyres, the rubber mixture of the summer tyres is harder, even in high temperatures. Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Fairly good on dry roads, let you know in advance when you are pushing near its limits (they “scream” loud and clear); the braking is pretty good also On wet roads they are a pain in the butt: lots of wheel spinning (yes, in a Sharan!! Looks like a fwd sports car) whenever you want to put the car in motion, loads of “fun” on the curves and aquaplanning guaranteed. Braking not that bad Would buy again because of the price IF it didn’t rain!! 😂

So far so good, no snow to test so far, but in wet good... And in dry good,... Not sure of the wear yet but I've noticed fuel consumption is very economical and the tyres are very very quiet, not as loud as the old rumbling Bridgestones, £ 50 x 4 tyres kwik fit 👌👍

First time use Maxxis tyres, has worn on front wheels. Can’t believe that tyres from budget class, for me a lot better than previous Uniroyal Rainsport 3. Quality to price, definitely recommended, probably will use again.

These tyres are quiet and grip well in the dry. They also brake well in the wet too and have good aquaplaning resistance. Fuel economy is fine too. However, on a wet road when going around a roundabout at anything over 25mph they loose lateral grip and the car slides sideways. If you push on the power then they completely break off and the car understeers. I am used to it now and drive gently but could be a bit dangerous for those who aren't experienced drivers. Also on cold damp roads they lose traction at low speeds when turning full lock in a manouvere, sending the ESP system off. I am disappointed because of this and won't buy again or recommend.

The worst fault i have found with these tyres are cornering. Even at relatively slow speed the vehicle slides, giving up grip rather easy. They remind me of a set of Falcons a purchased a few year back. Not good. Apart from that, an all round decent cheap tyre. Previous tyre i had on Accord were Michelon. A hard act to follow but at £185 a corner !!!!

I have been buying Nankang tyres for all the cars in the family (5) for over 10 years. They are as good as any top brand tyre and normally half the price They perform just as well and last just as long. My collegue always buys top brands tyres yet he does not get any more mileage out of his. I have a selection of family car, SUV and saloons. These tyres perform perfectly well on all types of car. I will continue to by NanKang because they work and are very well priced

Excellent non run flat option for BMWs. Superior wet and cold weather grip compared to the standard fit of continental ssr3 runflats. SSR3s are fantastic in dry but deadly in cold and wet. Nankangs outperform in all areas only matched by the grip. I have used Nankangs for 20 years.

Quite frankly I thought they wouldn't be as good as certain high end brands but to my surprise and delight they are better, the grip really well aren't loud and do the job, fuel consumption wise they are on par with my Goodyear and continental tyres I've had in the past and at least half the price

These tyres are good value and perform safely and well when used within legal parameters on UK roads. One slight negative is road surfaces can sometimes make tyre noise quite high but other than that I will definitely buy them again.

The tyres were 7/10 when I got them, the wet straight line grip is great the dry performance is above average. Quiet and comfortable tyres. The tyre wear is poor, I had new arms,tie rods, drop links and bushings as well as alignment done afterwards. The tyres showed excessive wear on the edge after only 8000 miles. I always check tyre pressure every week.

Amazing value, so much cheaper than premium tyres like Goodyear F1-GSD, which the Kumhos replaced, and yet so close in performance and in some ways superior too (as in steering feel, tread life and side-wall durability).

Good tyre in the dry and wet. Tyre only breaks contact with the road when pushed very hard. Water displacement excellent. Early to tell but wear looks even and smooth.

didn't think about the extra rubber sticking out due to the rim protector, I fit myself with not much more than a couple of spoons and the last bit to flip on was a bugger. A tyre fitter with a machine would never notice
