Medical problems have severely restricted driving over last 12 months, but I am satisfied with the tyres in town and across country. and the cost.
15.06.2024fromBrandon
I'm quite an aggressive driver for want of a better phrase (I don't hang around) and have driven many cars on many different tyres including Bridgestone, toyo, advan, Goodyear, the list goes on. However, these davanti dx640 tyres are on another level, I live in the countryside in rural Norfolk UK, road conditions aren't the greatest even on dual carriageways but these tyres make driving a breeze. Traction under hard acceleration is extremely good, they hook up well and will barely spin up the wheels (my bmw 325i e92 is 225hp and spins most tyres you put on it) the same goes for hard acceleration in the wet, giving the driver a lot of confidence in the vehicle (especially rwd vehicles). Traction under hard cornering in the wet is probably the best I've had from any tyre I've ever used, very precise and the feed back is unreal, you can put the car exactly where you want it on the road and it seems this is possible even when you think it shouldn't be (wet slippery roundabouts are not a problem for this tyre even at speed). With that said, you can probably imagine the cornering capabilites of this tyre when being used in dry situations. Infact, it's hard to feel any real difference in its abilities between wet performance and dry performance. The fact I've also done 5000 miles (not km) barely using any tread is great and I have no idea how they can make a tyre that handles as well as this, gives feedback as well as this, even in the wet, yet doesn't burn through rubber? It's crazy! These tyres may also be the quietest tyres I've used, again surprising as usually for the performance of a tyre like this you get a fair amount of road noise. I'd go as far to say these davanti tyres act like a semi slick in the dry, act like a wet racing tyre in the wet giving massive amounts of confidence to the driver, yet sound and have the longevity of a premium brand tyre that would cost you more than double the price.
18.09.2023fromThomas kirk
These tyres would appear to be made from cheese and not cheddar, the soft kind like Feta. The merest hint of a curb and large chunks fall off the side wall. I will have to replace the two front tyres after 6 months and 700 miles to get the car through MOT. The previous tyres were on the car 8 years so it’s not the drive, my wife who’s not a brilliant driver to be honest, but the previous tyres stuck around for 8 years so I’m pretty sure I won’t be buying Devanti tyres any time soon. Appalling bad tyres.
19.05.2019fromChris
I judge these tyres as I find and not by what I paid as these were cheap cheap cheap and by no means does the tyre represent the cost however these are my rear tyre on rear wheel drive car and often on wet roads I find the back slipping under heavy acceleration did not get this with my vredestein tyres but they were 100 cheaper for the pair agreed if I wasn't so heavy footed I would be fine I certainly wouldn't and didn't fit to the front on replacement as I spent more on stayed with my usual vredestein tyres overall a decent tyre for everyday use but not if you like to punch the throttle..

The most expensive conti's I've ever purchased (x4) Ouch!! I've bought a lot of other conti's in the past. Inc Sportcontact & Uniroyal tyres. Ecocontact5 are noisy, very average grip levels in wet & dry conditions. Poor wear levels for a so called eco tyre :-( Neither do I like the feel of them during cornering. I will not buy these budget/mid range level tyres again. I really don't have anything positive to say about these tyres. Apart from when I'm going to change them. Buy another mid range tyre instead or even a budget & save money ;-)

I changed tyres from Conti Premium and I am preete happy with Hankook. It is also a premium tyre.
22.05.2020fromPieter
The biggest problem with these tyres ar that they do not have rip protection. I have been using Hancooks on my previous car, so when looking for tyres for my current car, Hancooks came to mind. I had a better driving experience with the tyres that I replaced.
06.12.2019fromWhite
These tyres give a superb quiet ride. I also have these tyres fitted to the front of my vehicle, which have now completed 45,000 km and the wear is every bit as good as the Michelin tyres they replaced. Although I do not drive in an aggressive manner I have not noticed any detriment in road holding or fuel consumption.

Supposed to give excellent fuel efficiency. Getting poorer MPG that I did from my Continental Sports! Difficult to say but wear does not look too good on front, doubt I'll get another 12k out of them!

Starting to lose some of that high end grip when pushing hard but a very good tyre, great performance and very predictable.
02.07.2015fromSaulius
Very good tyre, but wears very quickly. But again, if you want solid grip in wet, the compound has to be soft and it means it will wear quicker than others. Had p-zero previously, was a bit noisy, dunlop makes much less noise.

May try Michelin's soft wall tire next. The disappointing ride comfort may be due to the Monroe shocks which are not oem brand shocks.

Very quiet tyres, very smooth comfort.
20.04.2022fromIrving Stewart
The MX5 Mk3 NC is generally regarded by enthusiasts as the worst handling of all the MX5's due to its extra height, weight, and suspension settings but I deliberately selected this particular version for its comfort, power folding roof, and pleasant ride. When first purchased the car was fitted with ridiculously wide [10"] rims shod with obscure American tyres. It handled like a pig, followed every white line, and a matchstick on the road felt like a small boulder. Fortunately I swapped the big wheels, with another enthusiast, and acquired a set of 16" Momo alloys. These wheels were shod with Falken tyres, two of which were almost new and two almost shot. The decision was whether to change tyre brand completely or see how the Falkens fared. The various MX5 Forums showed a wide range of differing views on the best tyres for my MX5, at hugely differing costs, so I decided as an experiment to stick with the with Falkens and subsequently fitted a new pair to the front. At this stage I should add that it has taken me three years to rebuild this MX5, it is probably my last car, and it is very rarely driven to its limits. Whilst I still enjoy a spirited drive around the enticing Welsh and Shropshire roads, and the occasional run to Essex and the South Coast, I gave up thrashing my cars when I retired from the circuits over 50 years ago! Today safety, comfort, and pleasure are my prioroties! Over three years the Falkens have performed well for "budget" tyres. In the dry they behave well, are quiet, and very predictable. In the wet they can be induced to loose grip [especially on the rear] but I have never had the front break away unexpectedly or in a dangerous manner. An over enthusiastic right foot will induce wheelspin when pulling away in the wet, even in town, but the Falkens soon regain traction. In the dry the rear can be induced to "hang out" but I have never had any major concerns about the car swapping ends. Some of the younger members of the MX5 fraternity have told me that [when run at higher pressure] the Falkens behave well on the track but wear quite quickly which is something I have not tried, and will not experience. Compared to the exhorbitant wear rate of far more expensive "leading" tyre brands experienced by my friends [some as low as 12,500miles per set] on far more recent premium cars, I am more than satisfield with the Fakens and will probably, eventually, replace them with the same brand.

A solid tyre I've refitted to the car several times already. Excellent grip on wet and dry and more comfortable than the SportContact they replaced with marginal difference in performance. Only difference felt was feeling marginally more tyre wall flex if driving very hard in corners but a lovely balance for comfort and excellent grip. They are slightly louder than other tyres which is a minus but worth it for overall performance. Very predictable behaviour wet and dry. Only other downside is Conti shipping tyres with slightly lower than average new tread which makes it a bit more expensive over the life than similar priced tyres from other brands.

These tyres are average at best in 2021 in all aspects from wet braking and handling through dry breaking and handling and noise. The only good point is the tyre wear. The only reason why I still buy them is that BMW decided to tune their stupid xDrive system with only these tyres and putting any other brand just messes up the transfer box.
