Summer tyres - optimal grip guaranteed!
On dry roads or mild weather, your tyres have to face some increased demands and must always meet safety standards. Compared to winter tyres, the rubber mixture of the summer tyres is harder, even in high temperatures. Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Fairly good on dry roads, let you know in advance when you are pushing near its limits (they “scream” loud and clear); the braking is pretty good also On wet roads they are a pain in the butt: lots of wheel spinning (yes, in a Sharan!! Looks like a fwd sports car) whenever you want to put the car in motion, loads of “fun” on the curves and aquaplanning guaranteed. Braking not that bad Would buy again because of the price IF it didn’t rain!! 😂

The biggest problem with these tyres ar that they do not have rip protection. I have been using Hancooks on my previous car, so when looking for tyres for my current car, Hancooks came to mind. I had a better driving experience with the tyres that I replaced.

These tyres give a superb quiet ride. I also have these tyres fitted to the front of my vehicle, which have now completed 45,000 km and the wear is every bit as good as the Michelin tyres they replaced. Although I do not drive in an aggressive manner I have not noticed any detriment in road holding or fuel consumption.

Just put these on the rear of my car. The were fitted on a wet day when the roads were greasy. With the tyres being brand new I was expecting wheel spin when I put the foot down. Nope, not a bit, the tyres bit hard. Even on the motorway at 120 kph when I put the foot down I could feel the extra grip and push which added to the driving pleasure and thrill. I've tried spinning the rear wheels in the wet but they just seem to grip really well.

I have been buying Nankang tyres for all the cars in the family (5) for over 10 years. They are as good as any top brand tyre and normally half the price They perform just as well and last just as long. My collegue always buys top brands tyres yet he does not get any more mileage out of his. I have a selection of family car, SUV and saloons. These tyres perform perfectly well on all types of car. I will continue to by NanKang because they work and are very well priced

Excellent non run flat option for BMWs. Superior wet and cold weather grip compared to the standard fit of continental ssr3 runflats. SSR3s are fantastic in dry but deadly in cold and wet. Nankangs outperform in all areas only matched by the grip. I have used Nankangs for 20 years.

Performed well in regarded to grip levels both wet and dry, did aquaplane more than the Pirelli’s P zeros but absolutely unbearable road noise and harshness. Yes I had 22” wheels with a very low profile but when compared to the OEM Pirelli P Zero & Scopions I’d avoid these if you want to enjoy your drive.

Superb grip on twisty country roads I've had minor spin when pulling away on wet surfaces, but have driven through very wet conditions with no concerns. Noise is more from poor road surfaces than the tyres and they're very quiet on quality roads. Still surprised by how little they've worn in 6 months.
